Whenever I list anything that’s classified as a toy for the computer geek crowd, I try my best to show things that are actually usable, even if only to a small degree. Geeks, after all, are a practical bunch.
With that said, here are 5 toys that are both cool and usable.
1. USB Memory Brick Thumbdrives

Where to get it: Here
These are both functional and cool. Not only are they just cool to see, but the cover does stack on top of the storage portion when in use. That’s awesome.
2. ProMini Wireless Keyboard with Trackpad

Where to get it: Here
This is arguably the best keyboard to own for a media center PC because it’s the size of a large remote, wireless, has a trackpad for mouse use and yes, it’s backlit.
3. Staple Free Stapler

Where to get it: Here
How does a staple free stapler work? According to the description, "This handy (and might we add – environmentally friendly) device cuts a tiny flap in the corner of your paper, and folds it in on itself, tucked in a tiny paper pocket."
I haven’t used this personally, but it’s cheap enough to see if it works for you. If it does, happy staple-free days are ahead for you.
4. AK Ice Cube Tray

Where to get it: Here
This makes ice shaped like AK-47 assault rifle bullets. What’s the benefit? It makes ice that easily fits into sports bottles and is entertaining at the same time.
5. Outdoor LCD Window Thermometer

Where to get it: Here
The transparent screen on this is what makes it cool, and the large easy-read display is what makes it practical.
When mounted on a glass door, it looks like this:

This totally looks like a luxury item but has a nice small price tag on it – and it works with only a single AAA battery. It’s stated the transparent surface is easily cleanable. IMPORTANT NOTE: According to the description, this is a Fahrenheit-only thermometer.
