Fortunately for me, I've been partly aware of most of these dangers since I was first introduced to the internet at a young age, and I've been able to counteract them pretty well. I do not use facebook at all anymore (although I used to occasionally scan the newsfeed, and even then, I rarely posted statuses myself, but rather just read others), I do crossfit, jiu jitsu, and karate during the week, and I lift weights during the weekend, as well as doing 200 push-ups a day since November 26, 2012 (haven't missed a day yet :D). I also hang out with my friends a lot during the weekends, and I live in a pretty small and social town. So pretty much the only things I have left to conquer are the mental fortitude and impulse control problems. Anyone have any tips/ideas on how to prevent/solve/reduce these effects?

P.S. I may be bragging just a bit, but in all honesty, I'm planning on becoming a programmer when I graduate, and I want to be as fit/resistant to the bad effects of the internet as possible, so I can rid myself of any guilt about spending so much time on the computer. Even now, I'm a pretty avid gamer, as in anytime I'm not doing any physical exercise/socializing/homework I'm playing video games.
