A Cool Way of Sending An Invite (5.25-inch Floppy Disk)

Posted Dec 11, 2007 by Rich Menga

G4 sent out CES invitations this year in a rather cool way by using 5.25" floppy diskettes complete with sleeves and labels.

If you were looking for a different and interesting way to send out invitations to anything, this will definitely get attention. Kudos to whoever at G4 thought of this.

Incidentally, if you’re ever posed the thought of "I wonder if they make USB 5.25" floppy disk drives?", the answer is no. No one has ever bothered to make one. Oh sure, we’ve got 3.5" USB diskette drives, but none for the 5.25" size.

And now if you’re asking "What’s the point of a 5.25" USB diskette drive?", you’re just not geek enough, sorry. Buy a Commodore 64 with the 1541 drive and we’ll talk. :)
