As most Firefox users know, there is a Google search box at the top right corner of the application. By default, you can click on the “G” icon and choose a different engine to make it search Yahoo, Amazon.com, Answers.com, Creative Commons, or eBay. However, there may be another site on which you often search for items. Instead of going to that particular site every time you want to use it, why not add it to the search box?
To search through all the available engines, go to [http://mycroft.mozdev.org/]. You will be able to click on search results to add them to your search box. If you do a lot of comparison shopping, you can add PriceGrabber, Shopping.com, Pricewatch, and ResellerRatings. If you do a lot of research, you can add Wikipedia and the Encyclopedia Britannica. If you do a lot of traveling, you can add Expedia and Travelocity… you get the idea.
Just beware of adding too many search engines, or you’ll have to create a new search just to find the one you’re looking for in the list!
