If you make extensive use of Windows Explorer to move, copy and reorganize files of any type you probably find yourself either having 2 explorer windows open or jumping back and forth between folders on the tree view. If this is the case, try the free tool, Folder Box (about 2/3 of the way down the screen).
Folder Box allows you to create a second pane inside of Windows Explorer which has tab access to predefined custom folder locations. This way you can view 2 locations at one time without having to jump back and forth between windows. There is a demo available which shows you exactly how the tool works.
For power users or system admins, I can see this tool being useful for keeping quick shortcuts to common locations such as your backup folders, system32 directory and inetpub folders while standard users my keep shortcuts to your My Documents, pictures and music directories.
Another useful tool on this page is the bxNewFolder tool (3rd from the bottom). Simply put, this adds a button to your Windows Explorer toolbar for creating a new folder. Simple and useful.

Anybody else have a problem with bxNewFolder not working on XPSP3?
I installed it and can’t find the button anywhere. My Windows Explorer/My Computer toolbar is customized, so I guess that could have something to do with it, but it’s all been done through the built-in “Customize…” gui. No hacks or anything.
I would think it would just add the button as an option in the “Customize…” dialog, but I see nothing. Anyone else?
I’ve always thought it was pretty dumb that this functionality wasn’t built into Windows to begin with. There’s even a “New Folder” button in most “Save As…” dialogs… but not in Windows Explorer? Come on MS.
I’ve been having that same problem for months now, since I updated to XPSP3. I even did a registry clean and reinstalled; but nothing.

baxbex newfolder looks very ugly on XP. Seriously lol what the hell do you guys expect? Just look at the webview panel (common task pane) in XP Explorer, there’s already “Make a New Folder” button. Even it’s already placed on Windows 7 RTM’s toolbar by default.
