Adjust Your Volume With The Mouse

Quite often I listen to radio shows or music on my computer while working. So whenever I get a call or someone comes in my office I have to turn down the volume. I was having to reach for the speakers every time which can be cumbersome depending on what I am doing at the time, but now I use Volumouse.

Volumouse provides you a quick and easy way to control the sound volume on your system – simply by rolling the wheel of your wheel mouse.

It allows you to define a set of rules for determining when the wheel will be used for changing the sound volume. For example: You can configure Volumouse to use your mouse wheel for volume control when the Alt key is hold down, when the left mouse button is down, when the mouse cursor is over the taskbar, and so on…

This utility is incredibly useful, especially if you are working on a laptop. For users of 64-bit Windows, you will want to be sure to read the notice regarding 64 and 32 bit compatibility.

  1. I use hotkeycontrol XP don’t need the mouse
can open the opt drives with the keyboard too

  2. I do it from the keyboard too, but I use the best hotkey program going. It’s AutoHotKey available at http://www.autohotkey.com.

It does everything hotkeycontrol does and more. Better yet, it’s free! And there is a large forum community for support.

  3. I use Ubuntu, and all I do is hover over the volume control icon in the notification area and roll the mouse wheel. Adjusts the volume without having to click or type. Awesome!
