Arrange Programs In Your Taskbar And System Tray

Posted Oct 13, 2008 | by Jason Faulkner

By default, Windows does a good job of grouping multiple open copies of the same program together (i.e. browser windows, open emails, Word Documents, etc.) but if you want them arranged a certain order on your taskbar (or in your system tray) you must actually open the programs in that exact order. This is no longer the case with Taskbar Shuffle.

Taskbar Shuffle is a free program which allows you to arrange the order the programs appear in both your taskbar and system tray. From the author’s description of the utility:

Drag and drop your taskbar buttons and system tray icons to instantly reorder them. No need to get all nervous when a program crashes or if you need to reboot; you can reorder your programs exactly as they were.

Needless to say, many of you will probably find this useful if you are particular about how your programs are arranged. After all, if you work with the same programs everyday, it can help save you a few seconds here and there because you know exactly where your programs are located.

Which Of These Traits Applies To YOUR Computing Life?...
