Did anyone say front panel? My snazzy Antec case — you remember, the one with the wrong power supply — has a FireWire port on the front panel. So, I was bummed out not to see a FireWire header documented on
the mobo. However, as I studied the board, matching the headers to the documentation like a good little boy, I saw the very thing. So, despite what the motherboard documentation says, or doesn’t say — at least on
my particular board — there is a FireWire header in addition to the rear FireWire port. If you look for it you will find it. And the controller does of course support two FireWires. No, I’m not going to tell you where it is. Find it your own darn self.

Well, that’s about it. I have confessed to my sins of omission and my sins of commission. Hopefully, Grasshopper, you will buy a power supply that has 24 pins, purchase your DDR2 memory in identical pairs, buy a SATA drive with NCQ, install the heatsink firmly before you bolt the board into the case. Be sure to check that the fasteners are locked. And download every single possible driver and BIOS update before you try to make anything work. Especially the sound. Anything I forgot? Probably.
