Backing Up Your Google App Data

If you are a heavy user of Google’s services, such as Gmail and Google Docs you might not be totally comfortable with having the only copy of your documents stored online. If this is the case, check out this article on how to download your Google data to your local machine.

For the most part you shouldn’t need to worry about any online service losing your data, but there is always the chance, no matter how remote, your account could be canceled or “hacked”. If you are worried about this, be sure to periodically back up your data. While the article focuses on Google’s services, downloading data from any other online provider should be very similar.
