Backup and Restore Outlook Express Data

Posted Mar 16, 2007 by Jason Faulkner

I know recently I have been giving Outlook a lot of love, so for you Outlook Express users wanting to know how to backup and restore your data, this Microsoft article is for you.

Unfortunately, the process is not as simple as that of Outlook. In a nutshell, here is what has to be done:

  • Copy data files to a backup folder.
  • Export address book.
  • Export account settings.
  • Export newsgroup settings.

A restore procedure is basically doing the opposite of the above. The process is not hard, it just involves several steps and the Microsoft article walks you through each of the steps.

A worthy bookmark if you are an OE user.
