Be Notified Of Anything With Google Alerts

Posted Feb 9, 2008 by Jason Faulkner

Another neat service Google offers is the ability to be notified of updates on any topic via Google Alerts. The way it works is simple, you just enter the keywords of what you want to be notified of, specify the scope (news, Internet search results, blogs, etc.) and finally how frequently you want to be updated.Once you set your alert, Google will email you any new information it finds on those search terms.

A simple use of this is to enter your name as an alert so if something pops up on the Internet with your name, you can check it out. Obviously, there are many more uses for this free service, so give it a try.
