BIG 10!!

This is the 10th episode in the series, so I’d just thought I’d mention
I’m pretty excited about it.

Hey
now, hey now, Cyrix is Back!
Cyrix is back, and I’m officially happy.  After VIA’s acquisition
of Cyrix, from National Semiconductor, Cyrix is finally producing a new
chip.  Want to know all about it?  Well, it uses the G6 PTL+
bus protocol, which means it’s compatible with the Pentium iii and
Celeron motherboards.  It’s also a Socket 370 chip, which means it
will plug into almost any Socket 370 motherboard, as long as your BIOS
supports it, but most don’t, so you’ll more than likely require a Flash
Update.  To get one, contact the manufacturer of your
motherboard.  This baby’s got 64KB of L1 Cache, split into 2 32KB
segments, one for instructions and the other for data.  Here’s the
kickers that make this bad boy so great in my eyes.  First of all,
it’s got 256KB of intergraded L2 cache, just like the Pentium
iii Coppermine. That’s some serious data storage running at
that speed!  Also, it’s core, is based upon a prototype CPU called
the “Cayenne” after the pepper! (Blazing hot speed, hint hint
hint =D )  They Cayenne was based upon a super version of the
M2.  It’s supposed to have  great integer AND
Floating point performance.  So, here’s what I’m thinking:

“I
think….this is gonna rock!  Piii Performance, at a cheaper
price…but that’s only if the Floating Point Performance is up to par
with the Piii…don’t forget this baby has 3DNOW and MMX
technology.”

As I
was thinking, I better mention this has 3DNOW! Technology coded
in.  As we all know, 3DNOW has been around for longer than Intel’s
SEE.  That means, better game support.  Companies>I would like to get my hands on one of these to
review!
=D  I told
you never to count Cyrix out!

The
Press, an extension of the industry
I bet you’re all thinking: “What the hell, isn’t Doc a member
of the press?”  Yes, of course I am.  But just because
I’m a member of the press doesn’t mean I can’t be a hypocrite and bash
my peers.  After-all, you must keep in mind what a very wise man
once told me.  “The freedom of speech and press comes with the
responsibility to respect other’s opinions, and report only the facts,
and the moral truth.  The freedom to bear arms comes with the responsibility
to protect the ones you love, your country, and home.  That freedom
also comes with the responsibility to kill, on site, any convicted
murder, rapist, drug addict, and Radical Republican.”  You
guys can probably guess who that wise man was.

Now,
to the point.  The press, as we all know, is a blood/money thirsty
monster.  The press, in general, will chase down anything they
think will turn into a story, just for viewers or readers.  For Christ’s
sake, how many 20/20 episodes do we need in a week?!?  The press,
has lost it’s not only it’s moral integrity, (if it ever had one) it’s
also lost the faith people have had in it.  What ever happened to
deep, melancholy voices like Walter Cronkite, a voice the people
actually had trust in at one point.  Now, we have parody’s of news
shows.  I believe that now is the time for the press to turn around
it’s wayward ways, and eliminate the faults it has gained over the
years.  If you are a member of the press, I think it’s time to take
a moral stand against your other peers, and do what’s you feel is right
deep down in your heart.  Is the personal gain you get from bashing
others really worth the trouble and controversy it causes.  As
always though, never stop publishing your own personal opinions, but
make sure people know they are your personal opinions.  As all
members of the press know, the public can sometimes be swayed by a great
writer or speaker, into thinking opinion is actually fact.  Do
what’s right, for not only the nation, but the world.
