From the “Why didn’t this happen 2 years ago (d’oh!)” department, Blockbuster is now accepting PayPal on their web site. I want to put that in bold letters because you can’t just go into a Blockbuster and use a terminal to complete the transaction with your PayPal account. That would be cool but the web site method will have to do.

If you decide to opt for this method of payment, the advantage is that PayPal is a way to pay Blockbuster without sharing your financial information. While it’s true cash is still the best way to completely safeguard your info stuff, this is at least a step in the correct direction that gives more buying power back to the consumer without having to sign over your first born just to rent a movie.
