Building A USB Lamp

Something really interesting I ran across today is a video on how to make a USB lamp. This is actually rather clever as they make a lamp powered by a USB cable using only 2 CD’s, a paper cup, a paper lamp shade, 2 small wires, and of course, a light bulb.

The video is pretty brief, but it shows you exactly how to build it. For those of you who are into computer light kits, have fun with this one as you can use your imagination to come up with something really nifty.

  1. Stu Cozza says:

Why not use LED’s instead of an incandescent bulb? there is a supplier (SuperBright LED’s) that offers just what is needed.

The concept is pretty cool, though. Being somewhat of an electronics geek, I can relate.
