Call Directory Assistance For Free

At some point or another, you will probably need to use directory assistance to get a phone number or address. Calling 411 is ideal for situations like this, however there is a fee associated with calling this service. As an alternate, you can try using Free411 by calling 1-800-FREE411.

The service works exactly like 411, however the catch is you have to listen to an ad or two before you get to the assistance. If you only use this service every now and then, it shouldn’t be a big deal and can save you a couple of bucks.

I’ve known about this service for quite some time. When it first was available it was great. However, this service quickly became more terrible. The ads are long and the automated system gets what I’m looking for wrong over and over again. I will never use Free411 again. When you consider the fact that 75 cents (which is how much is charged by my cell phone service provider) gets me a live human looking up a business or a number, it’s worth it. I also want to mention (in my support of Google) that Google has a free 411 search that I have used over and over again. It’s pretty good as a free alternative to Free411.

I holeheartedly agree. There is no match for Goog-411. The new phone i just bought for my home even has a “Goog-411″ button on it.
