Just to change things up for the sake of change, why not change your new mail notification sound? Odds are you are pretty tired of the standard sound, so make a change.
You can find numerous pages on the web (this one for example) which contain sounds ideal for new message notifications. Personally, I like to go with the famous Law & Order ‘two knocks’ sound.
I’m not sure about other clients, but if you use Outlook, you can change the sound by going to Control Panel > Sounds and then change the ‘New Mail Notification’ option.

Not possible with Hotmail unless used in conjunction with Msn or AMsn. Would be nice if it could be done without the extra programme.
