Comprehensive Windows XP Site

Posted Aug 23, 2008 | by Jason Faulkner

I came across an extremely well put together site on Windows XP this week called ‘Optimize Guides‘, and since I know a lot of readers are still on XP I thought it would be good to pass along. This site covers everything from malware protection to browsers to an expansive list of freeware applications.

Of course, the most popular feature of this site is the Optimize XP section. The optimize section focuses on what services and visual effects to enable/disable as well as the best programs to use for system maintenance.

All in all, this is a fantastic resource for Windows XP users, but one thing I would like to point out that I noticed: the author does not recommend using Firefox.

Which Of These Traits Applies To YOUR Computing Life?...

Another odd point is the author seems to suggest that the windows built in firewall is all you need (rather than an add-on free firewall like Comodo or Zone Alarm)
