Coolerguys Silver Pro Gamer

The case comes boxed for the rugged trip from Washington state to your house. It includes all the components and hardware you normally find supplied with a case -  motherboard standoffs, washers, and thumbscrews for everything.  They also supply a card holder and front port cable which is actually an \”extension\” cable that plugs into your devices from the back and routes them to the front for easy access.

The case itself is very light and the finish is excellent. Very smooth and shiny, sure to be the envy of all your friends – I know it was for me. One thing I should note about the case is that aluminum is a soft metal. You don\’t want to be playing catch with the case or just throwing it in your backseat or trunk, because you will damage it. This case is too pretty to get scratched or dented up.

Now what can this case do for you? Besides the great looks, this case actually helps lower your overall system temperatures. I am no metallurgist, but it does perform as advertised. I compared all of my temps from my previous case against the new temps after I had this case and my components installed and running. Yes, my PC ran cooler. Just think of it, the case itself is cool to the touch all of the time – unless you are using it to baste a turkey in the oven, you will get a \”chain\” reaction from this. The heat of your PC will dissipate rapidly through the metal and you will get a cooler running PC.  Your actual mileage may vary.

More features:

Ok, so you get a cool aluminum case, a heap of thumbscrews, a \”ventiduct\”, a card holder bracket for transporting to LAN parties and such(a new feature I have yet to see in any other case), front ports which include, sound, joystick, USB, volume control AND Firewire. Dude, that\’s a lot of ports. Now, when I said thumbscrews, I meant EVERYTHING has a thumbscrew. From the card sockets to the side covers. A big plus, if you know what I am talking about.

Fans: the Pro Gamer comes with the ventiduct which actually has an 80mm fan inside the duct that routes cooling air directly on your CPU. You also get another 80mm fan that mounts in the bottom front to bring in fresh air. All screws, washers, and motherboard standoffs are included in the box.

As for the physical size of the case, it is no bigger or smaller than your everyday mid tower ATX case. It has plenty of room for whatever you need. With 4 5 1/4 bays, and 3 1/2 bays, you should have no problem with your raid array. I have 3 drives in mine, along with a CD burner, and have enough room to add another if I feel like it.

Temperatures, like I mentioned before, are reduced by the case. Now don\’t start thinking this case is a refrigerator, because it\’s not. But I will say, that it reduced my overall idle PC temps by 6 degrees without doing anything else. What\’s good about it this case is that it helps cool the entire PC, not just one or two components.

Overall ease of installation was a snap. If you have ever built your own PC, then you should have no problem. The layout of the case is standard.
