Creating a Custom MMC

Posted Aug 17, 2005 by David Risley

Go to Start -> Run -> “mmc.” Here is the custom MMC creator in which you can create new management consoles like the ones found in “Administrative Tools.” To add a snap-in, go to File -> Add/Remove Snap-In and select the snap-in(s) that you would like to add. Finally, when you are done configuring it, go to File -> Save As and save the console to your desired location. Note that there are many more things to do with the console editor and that a quick search on Google or the built-in Help will yield many answers to more complex questions.
