The Basic Layout
The Disk Jockey is very simplistic in design. The unit itself is a white box. On top of the box are 4 LEDs: one which indicates power, one for each disk, and one indicating a buzzer. Out from each side of the unit is a 4-pin Molex power cable and a short IDE ribbon cable about 5 inches long. There is a large blue power button on the top side. One side has 2 Firewire (IEEE 1394a) connectors, and the other side has a USB connector (B-type), a 12v DC in, and a 10-position mode switch which you turn with a Phillips screwdriver. All in all, a very simple-looking piece of hardware. Almost too simple.
