Displaying File Extensions

It can be very nice to not be bothered with ugly file extensions, such as EXE or DLL or DOC. However, some people prefer to see these extensions. By default, Windows 2000/XP does not show these extensions. To show them, go to Control Panel -> Folder Options, choose the “View” tab, and uncheck the option “Hide File Extensions for Known File Types.” Press “OK” and enjoy the ugly extensions!
