Distribute Your Website On CD

I posted a tip last week about archiving a website to your hard drive using HTTrack. A really useful and practical application for this is the ability to distribute your website on a CD. An example might better explain this:

I have a client with a large e-commerce website of several hundred products who was attending a trade show and wanted to have laptops available for people to view his entire catalog. Of course, the trade show didn’t have Internet connection, so using HTTrack I archived his website to CD. In doing this, everything was self contained so there was no Internet required. He was then able to take orders by looking at the respective product numbers customers were looking at on the “local” copy of the website. Additionally, he has a nice handout to give to potential customers.

Of course, this is just one use as sometimes having a “standalone” copy of your website can really come in handy.

    Sorry for my late reply.

LitePXP is a completely portable WAMP server that you can run it directly from CD/DVD, USB Stick or Hard Disk without installation or configuration as if it's a normal Windows application. No manually starting and stopping Apache, MySQL servers or services. Best of all you can rebrand and customize it with your product name and icon. This means that you can rebrand it and then distribute it with your application on CD/DVD or USB Flash Drive.
