If you’ve ever been on the phone with a friend or family member and are trying to support some computer problem they’re having, you need certain information to help you help them.
Is there a ridiculously easy way to do this? Yes, there’s the Support Details web site.
It really doesn’t get any easier than Support Details. Have the person you’re trying to help load the site in a browser. Wait for the page to load completely (which will be quick), then have them put in their name, email, your email (in the green box at top), then click the big blue "Send Details" button. In moments, you’ll have the info you need to help you help them.
While true you may not get everything you need for info, you get most what actually matters. You needed the IP? Now you have it. Needed to know what browser they’re using? Now you have it. Need to see if they have the latest version of Flash? Now you know.
Site: www.supportdetails.com
This is one you definitely need to bookmark.
