This is the fifth Episode in the series, and this is also the fifth
episode in October. That means that the Season where Television
crams everyone’s favorite holiday down our throats. That’s right,
Christmas is right around the corner. That means that all the
major companies are releasing their new products for the shopping
season. And you won’t believe what Intel did!
THOSE
BASTARDS!!
It’s not that I don’t like Intel, it’s that I love the Athlon
processor. Intel released the first edition of it’s Pentium
iii “E” processor. The fasted Intel processor is now
733MHz, which beats the Athlon from AMD by 33MHz. Although the
Athlon 700 still beats the hell out of the Pentium iii 733 in terms of
gaming and integer performance, that doesn’t mean anything to the common
person The common person doesn’t think in terms of the actual advancements
in the core of the processor, they think in terms of the clock
speed. They think that 733MHz is faster than 700Mhz, which, as we
all know, isn’t right in terms of a 700MHz Athlon and a 733MHz Pentium
iii. Don’t tell Intel I told you this, but the Athlon is still
better than the Pentium iii. ![]()
Where
have all the motherboards gone?
As some of you know by now, the Athlon processor is out in full
force. But, that’s the sliver lining to the cloud. The
cloud: there are hardly any Athlon motherboards. The first thing I
thought, is that Intel must have a hand in this. As we all know,
Intel is the giant of the chipset, and processor industry. Both
tie heavily into a motherboard. That means, in a twisted way, that
Intel has a lot of control over motherboard manufactures. With
that control, Intel basically told motherboard manufactures that if they
started selling retail Athlon motherboards, they will experience a
shortage of chipsets from Intel. That my friends, IS WRONG!
What’s the last company to get away with that? Okay, wrong
example, but what is the last company that got away with doing that, and
not getting any hell from the knowledgeable press and public. That
answer is no one. The only way we can stop Intel from doing this,
as hard as it is, it to scrounge around for Athlon motherboards.
Many then Intel will have a surplus in it’s parts.
