Domain Registering

Posted Jul 5, 2006 by David Risley

As the number of online organizations and websites continue to expand exponentially, the availability of domains reduces at an equally fast pace. Therefore, it is becoming more and more difficult to obtain the precise domain you would like. If your desired domain is available now, even if you do not plan on creating a website for a long time, I highly recommend purchasing it. Domains are the real estate of the web and domain shopping is similar to shopping for a house. If the house you really desire goes off the market before you purchase it, you have to settle for a different home, perhaps even one that you do not like. For a few bucks a year, register your domain before it is too late.

To put this into a different perspective, let’s say that you own a small business called StoresX. If you neglect to register that domain, someone else will be able to register it instead and you’ll have to go with a different domain. Now, whenever anyone types in StoresX.com, they will be taken to a site that isn’t run by you and essentially you are losing potential business.
