Periodically, you should check your motherboard manufacturer’s website to see if a newer version of your BIOS is available (for your motherboard). Different companies have different update procedures, so you will need to check instructions for your specific board, but generally, the process involves “flashing” the BIOS and is relatively painless if you follow instructions. Updating your BIOS may seem like a menial task, but in some cases it can alleviate all kinds of problems and prevent future ones.
