Don’t Forget VoIP!

Posted May 17, 2006 by David Risley

If you are looking to get away from your local phone provider, but do not think you have any options left, take a look at VoIP. All it takes to get VoIP is:

1) A broadband internet connection
2) A VoIP adapter (usually provided by the company you sign up with)

VoIP can use your current phones, cords, and everything. You simply unplug yourself from the land-based line, and then plug your phone adapter into a phone socket in the wall. Then, you hook the adapter up to your router/modem, and you are good to go.

Setup instructions vary by company, but most are simple and easy to follow. Be sure to read the instructions carefully though, as there are some steps that are required.
