Don’t Put Images In Your Signature

If you use a signature either in your emails or message board posts, don’t put an image in it. I understand for some people it may be required by corporate policies, but if you have the option leave it out.

Adding a graphic in your signature not only wastes bandwidth, but it detracts the reader’s eye from what you want them to see… your message. If you really need the information contained in your image, type it instead.

It is true. But I don’t think there would anything wrong with having one on a non-serious forum .

I think the use of graphics is merely a matter of style. I don’t see any harm in it if it is a small image to start with.

Yes, it uses a little bandwidth, but so do avatars, images in a thread, etc. I think this is a matter of personal taste and opinion. And mine differs from yours in this respect.

I receive e-mails at work all day long. Over 50% of them have an image of some type inserted to them. In general the image is located at the bottom of the e-mail which I see after reading the text. Don’t find that little bit of bandwidth to be much of an issue.
