It is pretty easy to take a Word document and export it to PDF. There are multiple free options for doing this.
However, converting a PDF to Word isn’t usually so straight-forward. What if you want to edit the PDF?
Check out the web-based PDF to Word converter, from the guys at NitroPDF. You upload your PDF, choose your format, then give them your email address so they can send you the PDF. Nice and easy.

I gave it a whirl. The conversion process was not instant. In fact, far from it. Now, I will say that I uploaded a 72 page PDF I had lying around. The PDF was 1.7 MB in size. So, perhaps I threw a lot at the service. So, it was THE NEXT DAY that I actually got the Word doc emailed to me as an attachment. I uploaded the PDF at around 9PM EST and I got the Word document back in the afternoon the following day.
Now, that is a long delay. However, the conversion was extremely accurate and very high quality. It was pretty much an exact carbon copy of the original PDF – only editable.
So, I give their service high marks on quality. In the turn-around department, it leaves a lot to be desired. However, it is a free, web-based service. If you want speed, buy their desktop converter.
If you want to give it a try, head on over to PDFToWord.

Very cool. I’ve run into the need for something like this a few times. Too bad about the turn around time. I’ll have to give it a go. Thx.
