Here’s a quick time saver that I’ve started doing that works well: Say you’re coding a web page or something where you need to copy the names of certain files from one place to another, and those files have bizarre names not easily remembered such as:
WZv1-0UDrv103_0_1_2.tar.gz
or some such miserable name. I found it was a major time saver to just right-click them and choose “Rename” and when the filename highlights, press CTRL-C (or Copy) to copy the name, then click away from them anywhere on the screen. The copied name is then easily (and accurately) pasted to the destination location.
