Easily Tag All Your Media Files Using Winamp

If you have a lot of MP3 or other media files which support tagging, having them property tagged is essential for use with many of the media players available today. If you use Winamp as your media player, the built in Auto Tag function is a very simple way to tag your entire library. The Auto Tag function communicates with Gracenote’s database to download the tag information which updates your media file.

To do this, go to the media library in Winamp, and then:

  1. Select the listing for all files. All files in your library will appear at the bottom.
  2. Do a Select All.
  3. Right-click > Send To > Auto Tag.

I recently did this on my entire MP3 collection and it worked beautifully. One thing to keep in mind though is if you have a lot of media files, this can take some time.
