If you want to copy the target URL of a link on a webpage, as opposed to visiting the link and then highlighting and copying the URL in the address bar followed by having to close the new window or tab, try using the right click context menu provided by your browser.
- Firefox 2: Right click on a link and select “Copy Link Location” or if you right click on an email link you can select “Copy Email Address”.
- IE 7: Right click on a link and select “Copy Shortcut”.
The above will copy the target URL of the link to your clipboard so you can paste it anywhere you like.
