Last night on the PCMech LIVE show, community member Jose_327 recommended a small script for Windows Vista and 7 called Take Ownership.
What this does it really simple but at times you will find very handy. It adds an entry to the right-click context menu called Take Ownership. When right-clicking any file or folder, you will see the option.
The reason this is handy is because the usual method in which to take ownership of files/folders is a bit lengthy (right-click file or folder, Properties, Security tab, etc.) It requires several clicks, permissions modifications, etc. Using the script on the other hand only requires two clicks.
And yes, there is also a second script provided to remove the context entry if you feel it’s not for you. Easy on, easy off.
Thanks, Jose_327!
