Email Signature With Image In Windows Live Mail

Something that should be simple but unfortunately is quite difficult is getting an image to appear in an email signature when using the Windows Live Mail email client.

After combing through the client and researching how to do this, I finally found a way that works.

This supersedes my last document on this subject.

See video above for details.

  1. Well, thanx for the video, why we don’t just upload the
image into free hosting images site
I mean will the image be attached with the sent mail or just
    it’s path?

    • You can do that if you wish, however I find WL Mail sometimes is “indecisive” for lack of a better work on whether that works or not. Sometimes when you compose a new email with a remote linked image in the signature, the new email won’t show the image properly. When you have the image local on your hard drive, the image always works.

Strange, i don’t think that image on my hard drive will be shown on the other computer in signature created that way.
From image hosting site – yes, this can work.
But – idea to insert image in signature – is not acceptable for me as a mail writer and as a mail receiver.

  3. Hi Rich,

I loved the “How-to” video on inserting an image into a signature. I am using windows vista home premium. I followed your instructions to the letter but still get a blank image when I insert the signature. I even went to HTML settings under send options to allow 8 bit characters in headers to see if that would work but no luck. I also tried both .bmp and jpg.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks

    T.V.

Thanks dude that was way better than messing about with it for two hours without any result LOL. Additional question and hopefully you ll have an answer that can help me out:
Am I correct that this only works if you use one and the same e-mail signature (with image) in Windows Live Mail? I tried adding another signature (one for private usage one for business/work) but then it stops working and goes back to showing the red cross instead of an image again.

However it works great when I stick to one signature, therefore many thanks so far from shameless but oh so fun Amsterdam – City of sin-

    Cheers,
    Frank

Very useful video. Thank you very much.

  10. Followed your video exactly and still ended up with white boxes with red crosses! AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! Perhaps a step has been missed and I haven`t saved the image correctly in the first place – any thoughts please as to how I should save the image.

    Thank you greatly!

  11. Thanks for this – Unfortunately did not work for me.

I think I may have Frank Amsterdam’s problem because I added my details, then placed a scripture line (in a different font) and then the Picture.

    It doesn’t work ….

  12. also tried with just 1 signature and still did not work – Windows Live Mail.

p.s. every instruction followed to the letter and I am pretty sharp with computer stuff so I know I didn’t do anything wrong.

  13. Observation- When i simply try to open the HTML file created, the message comes up but the picture is blank with the red crosses…..I get a security message saying pictures are blocked and asking me to allow/disallow them… I click ‘allow’ and still the picture does not come up…

  15. Just beautiful!
Thank you very much for doing this for us! It’s greatly appreciated!

  16. Sorry didn’t mean to sumitt my last comment, I still get the bloody red cross, any pointers ?

  17. Sorry last one from me, if you are using windows mail you can only have 1 signature saved or the red box ! Thanks this really helped !

  18. Beckett527 /

Thank you SO MUCH for this. It was driving me crazy that I couldn’t get my work signature on my emails. Much appreciated.

  19. Frustrated /

I have done everything correctly but it does not work – the image is not showing, just a square with a red x. The task is fruitless thus far.
