Have you ever sent an email where you would like to know when the recipient read it? If so, then using an email tracker system such as SpyPig is for you.
SpyPig is a simple email tracking system that sends you a notification email as soon as the recipient opens and reads your message.
It works with virtually all modern email programs: Outlook, Eudora, Yahoo Email, Gmail, Hotmail, AOL Email and many others.
Best of all, SpyPig is FREE! No spam, no virus, no adware, no spyware. You can use it as often as you like, and there’s no catch.
When the reader opens the email, you are notified via an email alert through SpyPig’s tracking system. There is no registration required (you have to give them your email obviously) and you can set up your tracker right from the home page.
That said, SpyPig (and virtually all email tracking systems) work by embedding an image (either visible or an invisible 1 pixel graphic) into the body of the email which contains a reference URL to a tracking site. When the reference URL is hit, you know the message has been opened. This may seem like a great idea, but spammers think so too as methods similar to this are a way to validate email addresses. As such, many email clients block embedded images by default which makes these types of systems unreliable.
Regardless, if you really do need to find out when your emails are being read, these types of systems are your best bet.

Just want to point out that the service is called ‘SpyPig’, yet you repeatedly referred to it as ‘SkyPig’. I don’t blame you though, I kept wanting to read it like that in my mind, sounds better that way.
Other than that, looks like a useful service, great alternative to read receipts.
Thanks for catching that. I’ve updated the post.
