I’m a little late to posting this one, but for the benefit of those who haven’t yet seen it, Firefox 3 Beta 3 is available for download. One blogger is calling it an "IE Slayer".
We shall see.
ArsTechnica posted a review of Beta 3 for your enjoyment.
I gave it a quick try under Windows. It seems to work well and it has some nice visual improvements. A lot of the add-ons I use would not function with Firefox 3, which is the only reason I reverted back to version 2. As soon as my add-ons (like Firebug and Foxmarks) work, I’ll move to version 3.
Still untested by myself, too, is the native integration with Mac OS X. I will need to wait and see what the improvement is on the Mac (when I have the time to try it) because I am using Firefox 2 on OS X and it appears to be integrated fine. Nonetheless, Firefox 3 is supposed to offer much better integration with both OS X and Linux.
If they fix some of the memory leak issues in Firefox, I’ll be a happy camper.
