Works great in FF 3.6.3 by just changing the browser.urlbar.maxRichResults value to 0. Thanks so much!

I did this a long time ago and it worked fine, but now for some reason the smartbar works regardless of the settings.

I followed the above instructions. But when I press delete after a few letters of the web address, the websites in the smart bar still appear. Anyone else having this problem?

yes this did work. completely. all of my starred bookmarks were removed and NO history shows when i type. i know what i’m talking about and this is what you are all looking for. i did change the “rich results” to zero because all but one disappeared when i changed it to one. so m25 quit being a frigging crybaby.

This doesn’t work work worth a crap. This “feature” ruins firefox 3. Does anyone on the planet know how to setup firefox 3 where the stupid url bar acts like a normal url bar or is that asking too @#$ing much? For you egg heads, that means it only shows the history of url’s that you have typed in manually. That’s it. Stop thinking too much. If you can’t figure that out, I can write it down for you. DAMN IDIOTS.
