Firefox has a feature called Live Bookmarks. What it does is allow you to use content syndication feeds from websites (RSS feeds) and have them show up in your bookmark list. They are automatically updated. So, for example, if you bookmark the Live Bookmark feed from a news site, then you could just go to your bookmark list and see the most recent news stories linked to right from your bookmarks.
The way you can tell if a website has such a content feed available is by the display of the little orange Firefox icon down in the lower right corner of your Firefox window. If it is there, just click the icon and a small pop-up menu will display the list of available feeds from that site. When you click it, the bookmark dialog will appear so you can determine where to place the feed in your bookmark list. It doesn’t get easier.
You can try it out on PC Mechanic. We recently set up some RSS feeds for you, one of which is for this tip of the day. Firefox users, go to http://www.pcmech.com and look for the icon in the lower right. Other users can still set up our RSS feeds in their favorite RSS reader clients.
