“For Dummies” Style Books: Still Great For Beginners

If you are looking to get into a new field of computing such as programming, networking, or whatever, don’t forget about the “For Dummies” style books. While there is lots of information on the Internet, unless you know exactly what you are looking for you may have a hard time finding it.

Remember, these books are geared toward beginners and assume you know nothing about the subject and teach from there. I have used several of these books to get myself started with something (both computer and non-computer related) and believe they are very effective.

The two titles I have used are “For Dummies” (obviously) and “The Complete Idiot’s Guide”. There are probably lots more, so if you know of one, please share.

    I like the SAMS “Learn (insert language/topic here) in 21 Days” books.
