Last year, I wrote a tip regarding Penzu which is a free online journal. This differs from a blog as all entries are private by default so you can write what is on your mind without having to stuff the book under the mattress when you are done.
Since my last tip, the site has added quite a fit of features including:
- Integration with Flickr
- Easily share entries you want to make public (includes integration with Twitter)
- Searching capabilities
- Pro offering which adds security and export features
I find this model interesting because with blog and social networking sites being so prevalent now which encourage you to share everything with the world, Penzu is designed to keep everything private.
Of course, this model is not for everyone, but if you simply want to write a few thoughts privately then Penzu might be for you.
