Free Registry Cleaner

It seems the Windows Registry has become a hot topic lately in the world of security and reliability. So much that there are many applications available which do nothing but try to detect errors in the Windows Registry.

If you are looking for a free tool, a utility which has received high praise is EasyCleaner. While I am always cautious (and skeptical) before doing anything with the registry, the EasyCleaner description on the website makes the program seem as though it is pretty straight forward and only looks at the obvious.

So if you want to try to clean up your registry, give it a try. Just remember there are always risks whenever you mess with your registry, so be careful and make sure you have a backup just in case!

This is still not for the computer “illiterate” as noted in the article, you still need to know what your are doing with the registry. If you have at least a cursory knowledge of the registry, it will be helpful, just be sure to use the backup feature.

Kelwin is right on to warn about the fact that using all of the tools contained in EZ Cleaner, you can hurt yourself. You can find that you are missing some things you will need later

Take it from a guy that always jumps in and then spends time to read instructions only after getting myself in deeper trouble than when I started.

That’s why I love you guys at PC Mech, you have been the lifeguards who pull me out for about three years now.

What you are saying Kelwin is right. Messing around with the registry can have serious adverse affect on your machine. However, I have discovered a good registry repair program that I have used for some time called Regcure. You can read all about it at – http://www.registrycleanergeeks.com

I purchased uniblue power suite 2009 on 8-26-09. In your ad said it included all 3 software pkgs . You gave me pixel perfect, free. I cannot register ‘Registry Booster’ with the serial number you gave me on my receipt. It registered ‘Driver Status’ and ‘System Performance’ with that serial number. Why won’t it register ‘Registry Booster’? The receipt said I have until 9-25-09 to register it, but it won’t register.
My order number is 7054147. The serial # PS-00627-E90AA-48051-1A2D0-F0101-000G0.
Please reply and let me know. Is there a phone number I can call to straighten out this problem?
    Thanks, berlenelee@yahoo.com

I have used a couple of registry cleaners, as I found that it is less time consuming than rifling through the registry manually. Unfortunately, the first product I used Registry Easy corrupted my system with spyware. Needless to say I removed the product. I found a great product in Advanced System Optimizer at http://registry-software-reviews.com and I am very please with the results thus far.
