Frequent Searchers Like Firefox

Posted Dec 17, 2006 by David Risley

If you are still using Internet Explorer and find yourself frequently visiting the home pages of various search engines like Wikipedia and Google, then this tip is just for you. Firefox, an alternative to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, has a built-in search box in the browser’s main tool bar. This easy to use search box allows one to perform numerous queries, with various search engines, all without having to access the search engine’s home page. This can be extremely beneficial if you are on dial-up, or have to pay on the basis of bandwidth used.

If you choose to give Firefox a chance, the built-in search box is located in the top right hand corner of the browser. By default, it is set to perform a Google search, but this can be easily changed by clicking on the mini Google icon and selecting a different search engine from the drop-down menu.

For more on the search bar, read this: [http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/search.html]
