FrozenCPU 540 Case

Posted Oct 5, 2001 by cobra

I know, it\’s been awhile since I have posted a review.  I have lots of good excuses, but can\’t think of any right now. So we will just jump on into this review of FrozenCPU\’s new 540 case. This is one of their new offerings that is sure to please. Not only does it come with their \”window kit\”, this case is something that shows people are listening when we express our wants and needs in a case. The case itself is made of sturdy steel construction. Both sides come off for easy access, as does the top. It is \”formed\” together with the right side, so the top and right side come off as \”one\”. Another great feature is the removable motherboard tray.

A LOT of us have asked for more features, and that\’s exactly what we got. Take a peek at the pics. The first four are shots of the case as I took them out of the UPS box, unassembled. The case comes with everything you need for assembly except for tools. This unit is the \”clear ice\” which comes with a 120mm fan in the clear plexiglas window. The panel itself and top of the case are precision machined by the guys at FrozenCPU. When working with the case, I did not encounter any rough edges or burs, showing these cases are built with quality in mind. They have 3 different models to choose from.  This unit also came with the \”dual bezel\” gauges. Something all modded cases should have. The gauges are an option (extra). But I do want to note ALL of the 540 cases come with a 120mm blowhole on top.
