Getting rid of the Auto-Canvas

Microsoft Word, by default, generates an intrusive and oftentimes annoying “canvas” with the text “Create Your Drawing Here” upon the user creating an Auto-Shape. There is an easy way to get rid of this auto-canvas creation. Once in Word, go to Tools -> Options -> General Tab and unselect “Automatically create drawing canvas when inserting autoshapes.” Word will stop creating the offending canvases at once!
