The Firefox web browser recently was released as the final version of 1.0. This browser has been very popular among PC enthusiasts who have gotten fed up with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. Speaking for myself, I decided to stop using IE as my primary browser because it was taken over by spyware. Not only that, but it actually allowed software to install itself to my PC just by viewing a particular site or an advertisement on a site. That includes modifying the registry and everything. Of course, one can protect themselves against this in IE by deactivating some of its settings such as ActiveX, but still, most people have these services running, and that leaves most people open to these kinds of shananigans.
Firefox is a good, clean browser. IT has an integrated search bar, a built in popup blocker, tabbed browsing, among other features. And most important, it is open source. This means it is free, but it also means that bugs get fixed in a timely manner. I would recommend it. While I have since repaired my IE installation, I still use Firefox as my default browser.
