Give Gmail A Changing Look With Themes

Gmail users utilizing the web interface who would like to give their interface a new look each day should play around with the Themes available in the settings. While this is not a new feature of Gmail, applying a theme other than one of the simple “color only” ones usually changes quite regularly.

For example, I am currently using the Planets theme which changes the top banner daily. My wife uses the Bus Stop theme which changes with the local weather (rain, snow, sunny, etc.). Additionally, you can use the Random theme to get a fresh look anytime.

While the variations are not drastic (unless you use Random), they change enough to keep the monotony of having the same old theme away (assuming you get board with predictability).

  1. If you are using outlook or thunderbird or opera mail and … mail clients, you don’t need these freaking themes anymore!

BTW, what are these themes for?

  2. I love using the web interface for gmail, and I use the themes. It keeps things from getting too boring. The ninjas are one of my favorites, but I’ll try out some of these that change on their own, sounds cool.

A gimmick, just like Personas in FF. These tune-ups provide handy toys for those who want toys; otherwise, they are just wasteful. Boring is when boring people write to you, but this can be easily sorted out.
