Google AdSense Is Spammer-Friendly?

Posted Feb 9, 2008 | by Rich Menga | 2 Comments

I read an article over on Blight Watch that said Google actually displays AdSense advertisements that blatantly promote "friend bots". These are "services" that will comb MySpace and auto-add friends for you. That’s a spammer utility no matter how you look at it.

I said to myself "Nah, this can’t be true.. no way!"

It is.

Click the screen shot below and look to the right when the image loads up. A search for "myspace friend bot" brings up more than just a few of these "services".

That’s sad. Very sad indeed. I took that screen shot today by the way (Feb 9 2008).

Hey, Google? Would you mind terribly not PROMOTING spammer "services"? Could you put that on your to-do list? Thanks.
