Google Search Tips

Here are a few tips and tricks that help you find exactly what you want when performing a Google search.
1. Encasing a phrase in double quotation marks ( “this phrase in encased” ) will search for that exact phrase, as opposed to searching for the individual words.

2. You can search within a specific site by adding site:domain.com in the search bar. Obviously, replace domain.com with the address of the site you want to search.

3. If you place the tilde (~) symbol directly in front of a word (no spaces), Google will search for not only that word, but also its synonyms. The following search, Computer ~repair, will return sites that not only deal with computer repair, but also computer troubleshooting and more.
