Google Search Without Typing

Posted Feb 27, 2006 by David Risley

A neato little trick which works in both FireFox and Internet Explorer is the ability to run an Google search on highlighted text. It’s simple, just highlight some text on a web page, right click on it and select the menu option “Search the web for [your highlighted text].”

Note: this works using your default web search engine which is set in your browser preferences, so it can certainly be something other than Google.
