A lot of people seem to really like one of the hundreds of variations of weather checking programs. Personally, I hate them because they are [sometimes] a conduit of spyware or advertising popups and suck up resources.
The easy, no frills way I prefer to check the weather is going to Google and searching:
weather [my zip code]
Google then displays today’s forecast plus the next 3 days. This way you don’t have to hassle with annoying programs (yes, I am biased against these) and you can get the information just as quick.

I can’t get this to work.
typing into google:
weather [11201]
just brings up weather websites, not an actual forecast.
Am i doing something wrong?
Type it without the [ and ] and then click “I’m Feeling Lucky”. I noticed I did not include you had to click this button in the tip, my mistake.
1. Enter: weather 11201
2. Click “I’m Feeling Lucky”
Doing it from the search bar of Internet Explorer will provide web site results with a four-day forecast at the top of the results.
Good tip but keeping your favorite weather page localized for your place in Favorites also works wonders. That’s what I do.
